RULES AND REGULATIONS
Eligibility: The YearOne Bursary Challenge (the "Challenge") is open to any student entering their first year of post-secondary education at an Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institution.
Applicants must show proof of enrollment. Payment will be delivered to their education institution toward tuition.
Employees, agents, and representatives of the Challenge Sponsor and its affiliated companies, as well as the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of such employees, agents, and representatives are not eligible to participate.
Challenge Period: The Challenge application period begins on May 6th at 9:00am Atlantic Time and ends on June 30th at 12:00am Atlantic Time.
How to Enter: To enter the Challenge, participants must submit an entry in writing (no more than 250 words) explaining why they should be considered for the YearOne Bursary. Entries must be submitted through the Challenge website at year-one.ca during the Challenge Period. The Challenge Sponsor will select finalist entries that they deem to be the most deserving based on the criteria listed in section 4 below. These finalists will be required to submit a two (2) minute video pitch explaining why they should be selected to receive the YearOne Bursary, which will then get narrowed down to 10 winners.
Criteria for Selection: The ten (10) entries selected by the Challenge Sponsor will be judged based on the following criteria:

Originality and creativity of the submission

Quality of writing and expression

Demonstration of financial need

Demonstrated commitment to academic achievement and community involvement
Prizes: There will be ten (10) prizes available to be won, each consisting of a bursary in the amount of $2,500. The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $25,000. Prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. If a prize cannot be awarded as described, the Challenge Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. One hundred (100) secondary swag packages consisting of a hoodie and a water bottle will be awarded to applicants as part of the YearOne Challenge.

Winner Selection: The ten (10) selected entrants will be notified by email or phone within 15 business days of the selection. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within 15 business days, or fails to comply with the challenge rules, another entrant will be selected.
Publicity: By entering the Challenge, the winners agree to allow the Challenge Sponsor to use their name, photograph, and likeness for promotional purposes without compensation.
General Conditions: The Challenge Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Challenge at any time, for any reason, without liability. By entering the Challenge, participants agree to be bound by these Challenge rules and the decisions of the Challenge Sponsor, which are final and binding. The Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
Limitation of Liability: The Challenge Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misdirected entries or for any technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Challenge. The Challenge Sponsor is not liable for any damages or losses of any kind arising from or in connection with the Challenge or the prize.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from or in connection with the Challenge or the prize shall be governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of New Brunswick.
